Ok, if you’re looking for a dessert that’s easy, show-stopping, and a little nostalgic, this Simple Banana Trifle is for you! Inspired by Magnolia’s famous Aunt Opal’s Banana Pudding, I’ve tweaked it by doubling the vanilla for extra flavor.
I love serving this for get togethers at our house. It’s a favorite of my dads and I have a few different versions of banana pudding that I’ve made throughout the years. One with moonpies, and a REALLY quick mini banana pudding version.

Whipped Cream
- Chill everything: Place your mixing bowl and beaters in the freezer for 10–15 minutes for best results.
- Whip it up: Add the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla to the chilled bowl.
- Beat on high: Use a hand mixer or stand mixer to whip until soft-to-medium peaks form. Don’t overbeat! Stop when it’s fluffy and holds its shape.
