If it’s your turn to host a girls’ night at home, I hope this post gives you inspiration and encouragement! One of the reasons I love the internet is that you can learn just about anything and after 17+ years as a content creator (and many more as a hostess!), I’ve gathered some go-to tips that never fail when it comes to inviting my girlfriends over for a cozy, meaningful night in.

Let’s get into it.

Choose a Date and Keep It Intimate

First things first: pick a date and figure out who’s coming. I personally like to keep girls’ night pretty small 4 to 5 ladies max. Ideally, everyone already knows each other, but sometimes I’ll invite a new friend I know will fit right in. A smaller group just feels easier, especially when personalities click. So don’t feel pressured to make it a big event!

Dress Code? Think Cute + Comfy

If I’m hosting at home, my friends already know: it’s CASUAL!! Think matching loungewear sets, cute socks, cozy slippers anything that feels relaxed but still pulled together. I love this vibe because it lets everyone really lean into the comfort of home and puts down some defenses.

(If we’re going out for girls’ night, that’s when we throw on the heels and dresses. But at home? It’s all about ease.)

Have a Theme—Or Don’t! (Either Is Perfect)

Hosting a girls' night at home with cozy decor and simple food ideas

Do you need a theme? Nope. But it can be really fun!

For a recent girls’ night in, I leaned into a tomato-themed tablescape (yes, tomatoes are having a moment in the dinner party world!). I used what I already had: a neutral tablecloth, faux roses, fresh bay leaves, and bowls of colorful tomatoes. The only new things I added were tomato-shaped candles and cute paper plates.

Choose a theme based on what you already own. Then, if you need a few fun add-ons, you can check out my Amazon Storefront or my LTK Shop for ideas!

Build a Simple Menu (And Share the Load!)

When it comes to food, simple is always my go-to. For this night, I made just one dish, which freed me up to actually enjoy my guests. Each of my girls brought something, too. Again, we kept it super casual and delicious. On the menu:

  • Homemade meatballs

  • Pasta salad

  • Fresh fruit

  • Chocolate chip cookies

  • Red velvet cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes

  • WildWonder sparkling drinks (obsessed)

  • Virgin piña coladas (another favorite!)

It felt generous and still low-pressure my favorite combination when hosting.

Hospitality That Feels Like Home

Cozy Girls Night Table

One of my favorite things about hosting a girls’ night in is how light and joyful it feels. There’s no pressure to perform, just a simple opportunity to connect, share, laugh, and eat something yummy in a space that feels safe. I love this and encourage you all to open up your homes and do the same.

Your home no matter the size or decor can be the backdrop to some beautiful memories. God allows us to be generous with all the we have. Even our homes. When I think about some of my favorite bible stories my brain goes to the homes they gathered in. The tables that shared meals around and the hands that provided those meals and places to fellowship and gather. Often not talked about but so essential to the fabric of the Bible.

So friend, no matter your set up, your heart for hospitality is what matters most!
