One of my favorite parts of hosting especially now that I’m in my 40s ( I can’t believe it) is finding those small, thoughtful touches that make guests feel cared for. And while the food, conversation, and atmosphere will ALWAYS and I mean always, be the main event, an extra little gift can be a sweet way to say, “I’m so glad you came.” and not to mention a BIG surprise when guest aren’t expecting it.
Now, this is never about pressure. Your guests will have a wonderful time whether or not they leave with something in hand. But if you have the time, energy, and budget, it’s a fun way to extend the theme of your evening and send them home with a smile.
When I hosted my tomato-themed dinner party a few weeks ago, I tucked a little surprise into these clear gift bags I had and filled with tomato-and-pasta-inspired gourmet treats. I’ve had these bags forever and decided to swap out the ribbon that they came with for the bold red ribbon and it was so perfect. But anyways, by thinking in themes, it’s much easy to pull together gifts that feel intentional without going over budget. I love little samples, mini bottles, and small items and think work beautifully when you’re gifting in multiples.
You could be seasoned hostess or just finding your rhythm and vibe but I believe themed guest gifts can give you that extra boost of confidence you might need when hosting friends! Just remember to focus on the connection first!! And if God allows it, go ahead and put together that jar of sun-dried tomatoes and bundle of fresh pasta that says, “I’ve been thinking about you and you belong here.”
Here’s what I included in these gift bags:
- These Gift Bags are so cute and love the fact that you can see right through them. It puts all your goods on display like looking through a little glass window.
- Red Satin Ribbon– I replaced the ribbon that came with the bag with ribbon I already had on hand. I love the extra step of elegance!
- I picked up some bottle of gourmet tomato sauce ( Similar) at our local Homegoods. I got the pasta, pesto and oil there too. I love their little gourmet section and have always loved tying out different brands here at sometimes half the cost.
- I also added a bag of Pasta ( Similar) This one is a best seller and looks so good!
- Pesto ( Similar)
- Truffle Oil ( Similar)
- Bay Leaves ( From my backyard )
